This program is different from the Vermont Diesel Emissions Reduction Financial Assistance Program, which currently has no funds are available. When it was active, several Vermont businesses benefited from these grants. In 2020, a local heating fuel company received $32,000 to replace a 2007 International delivery truck with a 2020 Freightliner, achieving an estimated 93% reduction in diesel emissions each year. In 2019, one fuel company received $33,000 to replace a 2006 International truck, and another received $23,000 to replace a 2003 International. A local trucking company was awarded $108,000 to replace two Class 8b trucks—a 2004 and a 2006 model—with two 2021 Peterbilt Class 8b trucks, reducing annual diesel emissions by approximately 91%.
